About DealRadar AU

Australia's best deals, in a 10-minute briefing 👋

OzBargain is Australia's best deal community — but hundreds of posts a day, jargon and fine print make it hard to keep up. We read them for you, work out the real numbers and score every deal, so twice a day you know which deals are worth doing, how long they take and what the catches are.

  • Scanned twice a dayAt 10:00 and 20:00 Sydney time we go through hundreds of OzBargain posts, so you only see the ones worth it.
  • Savings, done properlyReal cash savings are counted separately from points, trade-ins and other conditional value. No inflated numbers.
  • Catches up frontCredit checks, auto-renewals, targeted offers, state limits — you know before you start.
  • Only what you can doTell us your state and memberships and we'll filter out what you can't use.

Where the data comes from and how it's checked

DealRadar AU isn't a merchant and doesn't sell anything — every deal links back to its original post.

Source
All deals come from public posts on OzBargain (ozbargain.com.au), Australia's bargain-hunting community. Every deal page links to the original post; votes and comment counts come from there too.
AI summaries
AI reads each post and writes the titles, steps and conditions in Chinese and English, and pulls out prices and cashback amounts. Numbers that aren't in the post are left blank, and automated checks catch common mistakes in dates, amounts and codes.
Batch review
Before each batch goes live, a separate AI reviewer checks the whole batch against the original posts. Every problem it finds is corrected, removed or re-analysed, and the batch only goes live once it passes. A person can overrule it at any time.
Your reports
When enough people report a deal has ended, we check it before taking it down. Deals with suspect amounts are kept out of rankings and savings totals.
Updates
A new batch every day at 10:00 and 20:00 Sydney time, with new posts collected every hour in between.
Contact
Wrong amounts, expired deals, partnerships or anything else — reach us through the Feedback page (you can leave your contact details). We read every message.

How the Deal Score works

Every deal is scored on 6 parts that add up, with a separate penalty for risks. The rules are public — we don't take money from merchants and there's no paid ranking.

80+ Must do65–79 Worth it50–64 If relevant< 50 Skip
  • Value30 pts

How much you save: estimated saving (for purchases, weighted by how likely you really need it) + 60% of non-cash value, on a log scale capped at $500.

  • Efficiency20 pts

Saving per hour, capped at $300/hour. Earning $10 in 5 minutes beats $20 in 2 hours.

  • Discount15 pts

Discount rate; 50% off or free scores full marks. Measured against the usual market price, not an inflated RRP.

  • Community15 pts

OzBargain net votes × approval. Community votes are the best signal for spotting fake deals.

  • Timing10 pts

Lowest price confirmed by our price records +5 (just claimed in the post +3), ending within 48h +3, posted in the last 12h +2.

  • Reach10 pts

Open to everyone 10, most people 8, specific groups 4, targeted offers 3; residents / PR only lose extra points.

Risk penalty (up to −15): high risk −6 (e.g. credit check), medium −2.5 (annual fee, auto-renewal, high minimum spend), low −0.5.

  • Good deals, 25 pts: number of deals scoring 70+; 20 deals scores full marks
  • Total savings, 25 pts: estimated value of today's top 10; $3,000 scores full marks (deals with suspect amounts excluded)
